From the Women's and Men's Super Cup to the elective Congress in November, taking in the African Club Championship, the African Handball Confederation (CAHB) has a packed calendar of major events this year.
Men's World Handball Championship
This is the first date on the African handball calendar. Five countries, including Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Cape Verde and Guinea, will take part in the 2025 Handball World Championship, from 14 January to 2 February 2025 in Croatia, Norway and Denmark. At the last edition in 2023, Egypt finished as the best African nation, beating Hungary 36-35 in the 7th-place match.
Men's and Women's Super Cup "Final Four"
On the continent, the 2025 handball season will get under way next May with the 32nd edition of the Super Cup, for both men and women. The competition is scheduled for 12 to 13 May 2025 in Egypt, according to the schedule published by the African Handball Confederation.

African Club Championship
This is one of the biggest events of the year. Straight after the Super Cup, the African Club Championship will also be staged in Egypt. The tournament will run from 14 to 23 May. It will be the 41st edition of the competition.
African Nations Championship (women's juniors)
After Egypt in May, it will be Algeria's turn to host African handball in September 2025, with the young women in the spotlight. The juniors play first, from 6 to 13, followed by the cadets from 14 to 21.
African Champion Clubs Championship (Men and Women)
To close out the year, the champion clubs will gather in Morocco for the African Championship. The men's and women's events will be held from 16 to 25 October 2025 in Morocco. It will come before the World Cup for the women.
2025 Women's Handball World Championship
The 2025 Women's Handball World Championship will be held from 27 to 14 December 2025. The competition will take place in Germany and the Netherlands. Four nations will represent Africa in the tournament: Angola, the recent African Handball Championship winners, Senegal, who were runners-up in that competition, Egypt and Tunisia.
Ordinary elective Congress
Once all of the year's competitions have been played, the African Handball Confederation will hold its ordinary elective congress. It could mark a turning point in the history of the CAHB, as president Mansourou Aremou, who has been at the helm since 2008, is finishing his 4th term that month.
