Memphis won their third straight game by beating Sacramento 123–112 on Sunday 25 October. Ty Jerome scored 31 points, going a perfect 14 of 14 from the free-throw line. The Grizzlies pulled clear again after the Kings levelled in the fourth quarter. Zach LaVine scored 37 points but could not prevent a third defeat in three games for Sacramento.

Second quarter turns the game

The Kings made the better start, leading 28–25 after the first quarter. Memphis changed the tempo of their attack in the second, scoring 42 points to Sacramento's 31. The visitors went into the locker room leading 67–59 after finding several answers from long range.

That collective output allowed the Grizzlies to take control without asking everything of Jerome. The third quarter, won 31–29 by the Kings, nevertheless kept the contest alive. Memphis led by only 96–90 heading into the final twelve minutes. Sacramento could still turn LaVine's efforts into a genuine comeback.

At 106–106, Memphis find the answers

The Kings drew level at 106–106 on a three-point play from Domantas Sabonis with 5 minutes 41 seconds remaining. The Grizzlies then strung together a three-point play from Isaiah Stewart, a basket from Cedric Coward and a three-pointer from Jerome. That eight-point burst restored their cushion and forced Sacramento back into a chase.

Jerome finished with 31 points, four rebounds and six assists. His flawless shooting at the line gave Memphis a reliable source of points on a hard-fought night. Jaylen Wells and Cameron Boozer scored 16 points each. Boozer also pulled down eleven rebounds, as did Coward, who scored 15 points. That support stopped the Kings from focusing solely on Memphis's top scorer.

LaVine shines, Sacramento still winless

LaVine was the game's top scorer with 37 points and five assists. Darius Acuff Jr. added 22 points and seven assists, and Sabonis had 15 points and 15 rebounds. That output kept a comeback within reach, but the Kings could not get enough stops after levelling.

Memphis won the fourth quarter 27–22 and took the rebounding battle 54–44. The Grizzlies also hit 15 three-pointers to Sacramento's ten. In the end, their varied scoring contributions and their response to the late surge keep their record perfect at 3–0. The Kings, now 0–3, are still waiting for their first win.
