The league's leading scorer, Joel Embiid was off the mark offensively in his final game of the year. The Cameroonian centre struggled with an ugly 6/17 from the field, including 0/3 from beyond the arc. But as a great player, Jojo knows how to make up for a poor shooting night in other ways. He made his presence felt on defence with four blocks, on the boards and, above all, by setting up his team-mates. That earned him a triple-double with 16 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists. It is his 5th career triple-double and the first of this season. Thanks to his performance, Philadelphia beat the Thunder (115-96). The Sixers, at 21 wins and 14 defeats, sit 5th in the East on this 1st day of 2023.
