As in the previous 2 editions, CESCA won the judo Federal Cup, held over the weekend at the Palais des Sports in Treichville. The Marcory Aliodan club cruised through the competition with 15 medals, 7 of them gold.

Two other clubs, INJS and SOA, also impressed at this Federal Cup. INJS finished in 2nd place with 10 medals, 5 of them gold, while SOA completed the podium with 9 medals, also including 5 gold. The competition marked the start of the new season. It brought together 119 fighters from 10 clubs affiliated to the Ivorian Judo Federation.

Standout performers

Several athletes shone during the competition. The Côte d'Ivoire -100 kg champion, Koffi Kremé, confirmed his status by winning all three of his bouts. In the -73 kg category, Sorogho Abdalah beat veteran Zouzoua Yannick in a hard-fought final.

In the -81kg final, Yapi Mandjo of INJS got the better of Bamba Massoma of SOA. The Palais des Sports will host the judo talent identification cup on 26 March 2023. 150 athletes across the poussin (children's), minime (younger youth) and cadet divisions are expected. They come from 16 clubs affiliated to the Ivorian Judo Federation.
