The Ivorian Judo and Associated Disciplines Federation (FIJDA) launched a capacity-building seminar on 18 April 2023. Aimed at Ivorian officials (referees and sports commissioners), the seminar, which runs until 20 April 2023, is a good opportunity for them to brush up their skills ahead of the upcoming competitions, the Abidjan African Open Seniors and the African Cadets and Juniors Championships (15 to 18 June). The course is being held at the INJS in Marcory. To make sure everything is done properly, the Ivorian Judo Federation has drawn on the expertise of Aboudramane Youssoufou, an international expert and deputy director of the sports commission of the African Judo Union (UAJ).

Several modules will be revisited, including refereeing gestures, the role and duties of a technical official at a world-level tournament, and a refresher on the twelve refereeing decisions. Officials will also receive detailed explanations of the refereeing rules and how they are adapted to the Olympic cycle.
