CR Belouizdad have suffered a second defeat in Group D of the CAF Champions League. The Algerians lost 1-0 to Sudanese side Al Merreikh on Friday 24 February. The only goal of the game was a penalty from Luiz de Souza (32nd).

CAF Champions League: Wydad give themselves breathing space
The reigning African champions, Wydad picked up their first win in Group A of the 2022-2023 CAF Champions League. The Moroccans beat Angola's Petro Luanda 1-0 at home on Friday 24 February, in the 3rd round of group games. The only goal of the match came from Yahya Jabrane (34th, pen). With this win, Wydad (3 pts) climb to third in the table.
Al-Hilal come from behind to beat Coton Sport
Still no win for Coton Sport in this CAF Champions League group stage. In the 3rd round of games, the Cameroonian side were beaten at home by Al-Hilal (2-1). The players from the Garoua-based club had thought the hardest part was done after Wassou's opener just before half-time (43rd).
But the Cameroonians lost their grip on the game after the break, conceding an equaliser to Lilepo (52nd). The Congolese winger added a second a few moments later to put Al-Hilal back in front (57th). The Sudanese side held on to that lead until the final whistle. With this win, Al-Hilal move up to 2nd place in Group B, ahead of the clash between Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly. Coton Sport, for their part, sit bottom without a single point.
