Impeccable! It is the perfect word to sum up AS FAR's run in the CAF Women's Champions League. As hosts of the competition, the Moroccans did not let their home crowd down. On Sunday 13 November, they won the final in fine style. The Militaires inflicted a heavy defeat on Mamelodi Sundowns (4-0), the reigning champions.
In this match, AS FAR did not hang about. They won a penalty as early as the 15th minute. Faitma Tagnaout took it. And her side went ahead very early. The two teams went into the dressing rooms with that scoreline (1-0).

After the restart, the South Africans were completely thrown by AS FAR. All the more so as they ended up finishing the game with ten players after captain Nhlapho was sent off for a second booking (52nd).
It was a gift for the Moroccans, who made the most of their numerical advantage. Jraidi struck a hat-trick (52, 86, 90+2) that completely stunned the Sundowns Ladies, who had not expected such a scenario.
Jerry Tshabalala's side will go home with only a silver medal, as AS FAR won almost all of the individual awards. Named player of the match, Ibtissam Jraidi was also the tournament's top scorer (6 goals), Fatima Tagnaout was named best player and Khadija Er-rmichi best goalkeeper. Only the Fair Play award eluded AS FAR. It went to the Nigerian side Bayelsa Queens.
