Ligue 1 (matchday 22): Gagnoa slip up, SOA and Afad close in

Ligue 1 leaders Sporting Club de Gagnoa lost 1-0 to AFAD on matchday 22. The Bleu-Jaune have therefore missed the chance to pull clear of Asec Mimosas, who were not in league action because of their Confederation Cup match, which they won 2-1 against Motema Pembe. The best result of the weekend belongs to Afad, who moved a little closer to third place after their win. Struggling in the league, CO Korhogo got some breathing space by edging past Bouaké FC (2-1). The Koné Yaya effect, with him back on the bench in place of Aka Jean Baptiste, failed to materialise for the Bouaké side. SOA, for their part, consolidated 3rd place in the table by outplaying newly promoted Stade d'Abidjan.
