Mazembe beaten in Radès

Espérance Tunis have done it. After losing the first leg of their African Football League quarter-final to TP Mazembe (0-1), the Sang et Or put things right at home to win the return leg (3-0) and go through. It was a comfortable win for the Tunisians, though it took a while to come. Facing a Congolese side who were determined to make life difficult, they had to wait until the closing moments before half-time for Ouahabi to open the scoring (45th). Oussema Bouguerra then got the goal that changed everything for EST at the start of the final quarter of an hour (76th). Forced to throw men forward in search of a goal, Mazembe conceded again to a Tougai header (86th), which settled the tie for good. The Tunisians go into the semi-finals, where they will face Wydad Casablanca.

WAC too strong for Enyimba

Wydad Casablanca, as so often, turned up when it mattered. After winning the first leg of their African Football League quarter-final against Enyimba, the Moroccan side sealed their place in the semi-finals by beating the Nigerians again in the return leg (3-0). It was a comfortable win for the Casaouis, set up very early by Ayoub El Amloud's quick opener (4th). That gave them the perfect start, before Jamal Harkas's 2nd goal put them firmly in control (38th). Yahya Attiat-Allah wrapped up the rout before half-time (43rd). Wydad then managed the game in the second half and secured their place in the last four. In the other semi-final, South Africans Mamelodi Sundowns will take on Egyptians Al Ahly. Both games will be played this Sunday, 29 October.
