The Europa Conference League trophy is heading for Abidjan whoever wins, as the final will pit Christian Kouamé's Fiorentina against Maxwell Cornet's West Ham on 7 June 2023. The Italians of La Viola beat Switzerland's FC Basel by 3 goals to 1, while West Ham's Hammers defeated the Netherlands' AZ Alkmaar by 1 goal to 0 in the second legs on Thursday 18 May 2023. It is a first for the competition: across its two editions, this will be the first meeting between these two clubs.
