The Portland Trail Blazers beat the Phoenix Suns 132-119 on Wednesday 4 November 2026 at the Mortgage Matchup Center, in front of 17 071 spectators. Damian Lillard led the Blazers with 25 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists in 33 minutes. The game turned in a second quarter that the visitors won 43-25.

Portland played without Ja Morant and Shaedon Sharpe, both ruled out on the pre-game injury report. Vit Krejci was also listed, but he played 12 minutes. Phoenix were without Jordan Goodwin, Rasheer Fleming and Mark Williams. The Blazers are now 6-1 and top the Western Conference. The Suns fall to 1-5, 12th in the West. The final margin, thirteen points, is short of the 22-point lead reached late in the third quarter.

Phoenix take the first quarter by five, Portland answer with a 43-25 second

The start belongs to the Suns. Phoenix reach their biggest lead of the night at 19-14, with 6 minutes 22 seconds left in the first quarter, and win the period 34-29. The lead changed hands four times in all, with four ties.

The second quarter flips the balance of power. Portland go on an 8-0 run, from 35-39 to 43-39, starting with 9 minutes 49 seconds to play. The Blazers win the period 43-25, an eighteen-point gap, and go into the locker room ahead 72-59. Phoenix, who scored 34 points in the first quarter, managed only 25 in the second.

A third-quarter 9-0 run fixes the gap

Phoenix are still within ten points, 82-72, with 6 minutes 54 seconds left in the third quarter. Portland then go on a 9-0 run that makes it 91-72. The Blazers win the period 32-26 and reach their biggest margin, 22 points, at 104-82, with 37.7 seconds left in the period. Going into the fourth quarter, the scoreboard reads 104-85.

The final quarter goes to the Suns, 34-28, without changing the outcome. Phoenix cut the gap from nineteen to thirteen points, for a final score of 132-119.

Portland's supporting cast

Damian Lillard finished as the Blazers' top scorer with 25 points, making 9 of 17 shots, including 2 of 8 from three-point range, and 5 of 5 from the free-throw line. His plus-minus of +16 is the best on his team, level with Deni Avdija, who had 21 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists in 35 minutes. Donovan Clingan dominated inside: 24 points on 9 of 12 shooting, 11 rebounds and 3 blocks in 29 minutes, despite 4 turnovers.

Jrue Holiday, off the bench, scored 15 points with 5 of 9 from beyond the arc. Toumani Camara added 11 points and Scoot Henderson 9. Robert Williams III made his presence felt in 16 minutes with 9 points, 8 rebounds and 3 blocks.

As a team, Portland shot 51%, 44 of 86, against 45% for Phoenix. The Blazers won the rebounding battle 47 to 39, including 16 offensive boards. They got to the line 41 times, ten more than the Suns, and made 30. The weak point shows in the 18 turnovers, against 12 for Phoenix.

Booker carried Phoenix, but the outside shooting deserted them

Devin Booker finished as the game's top scorer with 33 points, making 9 of 19 shots and going 13 of 13 from the free-throw line, in 34 minutes. Jalen Green added 22 points, going 8 of 8 from the line but only 6 of 17 from the field, with a plus-minus of -15. Miles Bridges scored 18 points, including 4 of 7 from three, with 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Dillon Brooks scored 15 points, but turned the ball over 4 times and finished at -16 in 35 minutes.

Oso Ighodaro was the most complete reserve with 9 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 blocks in 23 minutes. Duop Reath scored 7 points in 7 minutes. The Suns made 10 of 36 from three-point range, or 28%, against 14 of 39 for Portland.

Maluach starts, plays sixteen minutes

Khaman Maluach, a South Sudanese born in Rumbek, started for Phoenix. He played 16 minutes, the fewest of the five Suns starters, for 6 points on 3 of 7 shooting, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 block, with no turnovers. His plus-minus finished at -6, up against Clingan and Williams III.

Three takeaways

The second quarter decided the game. Portland won it 43-25, an eighteen-point gap, while the final margin is only thirteen. Phoenix won the first and fourth quarters, 34-29 and 34-28, without closing that hole.

Portland won near the rim. The Blazers scored 56 points in the paint to 46, took 47 rebounds to 39 and grabbed 16 offensive rebounds. Clingan had 11 rebounds and Williams III 8 in sixteen minutes, with 3 blocks each.

The turnovers did not stop the Blazers from winning. Portland lost 18 balls to 12, but conceded only 21 points off them, just one more than Phoenix. The Blazers also scored 19 fast-break points, to 9 for the Suns.

The SNA view

This win owed more to the paint than to shooting. Portland shot 36% from deep, Phoenix 28%. The Blazers got ten more free throws, eight more rebounds and scored ten more points in the paint. Lillard set the tempo, Avdija provided the playmaking with 12 assists, and Clingan the finishing at 9 of 12. The 18 turnovers remain the caveat against a team that would convert steals more efficiently. On the Phoenix side, four starters reached 15 points, but one 25-point quarter was enough to lose a game in which the Suns scored 119.

What's next

Portland, at 6-1 and top of the Western Conference, lead the season series 2-0 against Phoenix. The Blazers travel to face the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday 6 November. Phoenix, at 1-5 and 12th in the West, host the Orlando Magic on Thursday 5 November.
