Paris opened their European campaign with a 6–1 win over Slovan Bratislava. Manchester City come into the game on six consecutive Premier League wins. On Wednesday 14 October, the two clubs meet in Manchester with both attacks firing and the chance to extend their good start in the Champions League.

City also won their first European match, 2–0 at Porto. Both sides can therefore move onto six points tonight. Paris are also looking for a first European win at Manchester City's ground, where they have lost three and drawn one of their four European visits.

Paris welcome back key men after rotated side

On Saturday, Paris beat Le Mans (3–1), with Ousmane Dembélé and Nuno Mendes rested. Both players are in the squad selected for Manchester, as is Achraf Hakimi.

For Hakimi, the right flank is one to watch. If the Morocco international starts, his forward runs could give the Paris attack an extra outlet. They also have to be covered when possession is lost: leaving space to a winger able to accelerate makes the recovery run harder.

Doku, another option for City

Manchester City arrive after a 3–0 league win at Liverpool. Coming off the bench, Jérémy Doku scored a goal and provided an assist. That contribution gives Enzo Maresca an extra choice in attack before hosting Paris.

If Doku starts on the left, his side will be an area of concern for Hakimi.

Through the middle, Erling Haaland remains City's main threat: he scored both goals in the win at Porto. For Paris, the question is therefore not limited to shutting down one flank. They will also have to stop balls from the wings finding the centre-forward close to goal.

Paris won the last meeting, but at home

The last meeting between the two clubs ended in a 4–2 Paris win at the Parc des Princes on 22 January 2025. But that success came in Paris. In Manchester, PSG are still waiting for their first win in European competition.

Two questions should weigh on the evening: will Paris be able to play out from the back under pressure? Will City find Haaland without exposing themselves if they lose the ball?
