Amad Diallo is thriving at Sunderland. Loaned out by Manchester United at the start of the season, the Ivorian winger has six goals and one assist in 19 appearances for the Black Cats. Asked about a possible return for Diallo to the Red Devils squad, Eric Ten Hag left the door open. " We consider everything," the manager said. "As long as it strengthens the team. But at the same time, I'm a bit wary on this because I don't want to interrupt his process. He's making very good progress, so I'm happy with that".

Despite his impressive form in the Championship, Amad Diallo still has to prove himself, Ten Hag believes. "Young players need experience. When we decide [for him] on his return, he must be a player who can start, or at least compete to start, in a lot of games. Be able to come on and make an impact."

Having joined Man Utd from Atalanta in 2021, Diallo was loaned to Rangers (Scotland) last season, then to Sunderland until the end of this season, with no option to buy. "I didn't see him as a starter or a player who already had an impact. But I see and appreciate his potential and his abilities. I saw that he needed experience in many aspects of football. He has to get stronger physically and mentally so that he can be of value to us."

Meanwhile, Amad Diallo continues his fine run of form with Sunderland. The English side's head coach, Tony Mowbray, is even delighted with Amad's progress, and regards him as one of his "main players" this year.
