Morocco have qualified for round 3 of the qualifying competition for the U17 Women's World Cup. The Atlas Lionesses thrashed Niger in both legs by the same scoreline (11-0). The Moroccans are therefore the top-scoring side of round 2 with 22 goals. In round 3 they will take on Algeria, who struggled through against Benin. Beaten in the first leg (2-0), the Algerians sneaked through at home on penalties (8–7).

Like Morocco, Nigeria were breathtaking in this second round of qualifying for the U17 Women's World Cup. The Flamingos made light work of the Central African Republic. They won 6-0 in the first leg in Abuja and did the same again in the return. 12-0 on aggregate across the two games. In round 3, they will face Burkina Faso, who knocked out Guinea.

Cameroon, by contrast, are out in round 2 of qualifying for the U17 Women's World Cup. Held in the first leg (1-1), the Indomitable Lionesses collapsed at home against Uganda (3-1). A fine performance from the Ugandans, who will face Zambia or Tanzania in the next round. In the first leg, the Zambians thrashed the Tanzanians (5-0).

In the other games, Ethiopia got past South Africa and will face Kenya, who had a bye in round 2. That sets up an East African clash. There will in fact be two East African derbies in round 3 of qualifying. Burundi, who knocked out Botswana, will face Djibouti.

Twelve teams will contest this third round of qualifying for the U17 Women's World Cup. Six teams will therefore go through to the fourth and final round. The first legs will be played on 9 March, with the return leg on the 16th. Africa will have three representatives at the U17 Women's World Cup, which will take place from 16 October to 3 November in the Dominican Republic.
