Crowned for a fourth time in a row, Morocco extend their streak. Morocco won the 2026 Futsal AFCON by beating Angola 5-2 on Wednesday 21 October in Rabat. Already champions in 2016, 2020 and 2024, the Atlas Lions are now the outright record holders in the competition, ahead of Egypt and their three titles.

On home soil, Hicham Dguig's players had to wait until the end of the first half to take the lead. Angola held firm until Othmane El Idrissi opened the scoring in the 17th minute.

Angola replied in the very next minute: João Cambangula equalised, scoring the first goal Morocco had conceded in this edition. The respite for the Palancas Negras was brief. In the 19th minute, Youssef Jaouad restored the Moroccans' lead, and they went into the dressing room ahead (2-1).

Morocco step up a gear after the break

The restart quickly turned the final. Idriss Raiss El Fenni made it 3-1 in the 21st minute, giving the holders a cushion they had failed to build before the break.

Ismail Amazal, in the 33rd minute, then Bilal Bakkali, in the 35th, stretched the lead to 5-1. Angola still found the resources to pull one back through Anderson Fortes in the 37th minute, without putting the Moroccan victory in doubt.

After a tight first half, the Atlas Lions thus built their win after the interval. They finished the tournament with only two goals conceded, both in this final.

Four titles, a record all their own

This trophy extends a run that began in 2016 and continued in 2020 and then 2024. With this fourth consecutive crown, Morocco move past Egypt, winners of the first three editions in 1996, 2000 and 2004.

Hicham Dguig's men now have one title more than anyone else on the continental roll of honour. Against an Angolan side who held them before the break, they regained control and kept their crown in front of their own fans.
