The stars are finally aligning for Philadelphia. Close to full strength, the Sixers made it a 4th straight victory (their 8th win in the last 10 games) by winning their final game of the year overnight against Portland, 125-101. Joel Embiid showed all his talent with 37 points and 9 rebounds. A good omen for the year ahead. Long stuck at the bottom, the Sixers are now 11th in the Eastern Conference and are back in the play-off race. New York also won, 126-106 against Washington, with 18 points from OG Anunoby.
Elsewhere, Golden State lost 95-118 to Cleveland, despite a double-double from Congolese Jonathan Kuminga, who put up 18 points and 10 rebounds in 32 minutes. The Warriors slip to 10th in the West. In that conference, New Orleans occupy 15th and last place after a 113-116 defeat to the Clippers. Cameroonian Yves Missi (12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists) could not prevent this latest loss.
