Pascal Siakam may not be the prettiest player on the court, and when he arrived in the NBA in 2018, nobody expected to see him rise this high. But through hard work and perseverance, the Cameroonian, who took up basketball fairly late in his native Douala, has become a reference point in the NBA. He has already won an NBA title in 2019, along with the Most Improved Player award that same year. And since 2020, he has been the acknowledged leader of Toronto. The Cameroonian power forward carries the Canadian franchise, and he proved it again this week.
Producing a monster performance in the legendary Madison Square Garden, with 52 points, a career high, he led the Raptors to two wins from three games in the week. Above all, he averaged 38.7 points, 10.3 rebounds and 7.3 assists over that period. So it is only fitting that the NBA named the Cameroonian Eastern Conference Player of the Week. It is the 5th time in his career that he has received the award. In the West, Slovenian Luka Doncic got the nod. The Dallas guard put up 31.5 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists in four games.
