Avenir du Rail / République du Congo

West and Central Africa, along with the Maghreb, will be represented at this final qualifying event. The clubs announced include JCA King of host nation Côte d'Ivoire, Al Ittihad of Libya, Spintex Knights of Ghana, Espoir BC of Gabon, Avenir du Rail of Congo, NB Staoueli of Algeria and Sofas Nabaya of Guinea.

For these sides, more is at stake than simply winning a trophy. The real aim is to clear the last hurdle before reaching the BAL 2027 regular season. That prospect lends the competition a special dimension, with every game potentially carrying heavy weight in the race to qualify.

Six days to earn a place among the elite

The competition begins on 10 November with a group phase run as a mini-league. Each team will play three games to finish among the top two in its group. Those four sides will advance to the crossover semi-finals scheduled for 14 November, after a rest day on 13 November.

The tournament will conclude on 15 November with the third-place game, followed by the final. The two finalists will qualify directly for the BAL 2027 regular season.

For Avenir du Rail, this stage is a major opportunity to extend its continental run and carry the ambitions of Congolese basketball. But in Abidjan, the competition looks set to be stiff, with rivals determined to claim one of the two available tickets.

Six days of competition, eight contenders announced and two places up for grabs: the Dôme d'Abidjan will stage a decisive battle to join the elite of African basketball.
