Playing as a right back, the 27-year-old arrives as a real reinforcement. In this position, no Togolese international has established himself. And the Munich native could claim a starting spot if he puts in good performances early on with the Eperviers. Who is Henri Koudossou?
Training in two academies in Germany
Born in Germany, Henri Koudossou spent almost his entire career there. The 27-year-old right back was trained at FC Ismaning and FC Memmingen. At FC Ismaning, he played with the reserve team. From a young age, he already showed the qualities of a promising player. Thanks to his good performances with this team, he was recruited by SV Pullach in 2018, a club playing in the Bayernliga, the amateur first and second division championship of Bavaria. He proved himself there.
Progression at Augsburg
After two seasons at SV Pullach and 4 goals in 38 matches, Henri Koudossou took a step forward in his career. The player signed with Augsburg, one of the top clubs in the Bundesliga. Upon his arrival, he was placed in the reserve team from 2020 to 2022. After excellent performances with the B team, he signed his first professional contract for three years on June 30, 2022.
After successful loans at Austria Lustenau (Austria) and ADO Den Haag (Netherlands), the new Epervier returned to Augsburg. On September 17, 2024, he made his professional Bundesliga debut in a 3-1 win over FC St. Pauli. He came on in the 83rd minute: “You couldn't dream of a better debut,” he said after the match.
With Augsburg's first team, Koudossou played in 21 matches.
Signed with Arminia Bielefeld this summer
Last season, Henri Koudossou had a final loan at 1. FC Nürnberg in the German second division. This summer, the Togolese player left Augsburg for good. With competition for the right back spot, the Munich native returned to Bundesliga II to seek more playing time.
On July 1, 2026, Henri Koudossou joined Arminia Bielefeld. At his new club, the 27-year-old right back has strung together appearances. He is getting playing time. An undisputed starter, he has made six appearances in all competitions—five in the league and one in the German Cup—with one assist. He has played 561 minutes this season. He joins the Togo national team at the top of his form, confident and with an undisputed status at club level.
