For the past five days now, Moroccan player Archaf Hakimi and his ex-wife Hiba Abouk have been the talk of social media. The story claims that the Morocco international and PSG player put his entire fortune into his mother's account so as not to share his assets in the divorce from his ex-wife.

Former Le Parisien journalist Gilles Verdez, who appeared on the show Touche Pas à Mon Poste (TPMP), presented by Cyril Hanouna on C8, disputes the claims now shaking the web.

"I don't know the terms of their ongoing divorce, but it's not true that he put the money in his mother's name. That's impossible, whether in Spain, Morocco or France. You have to understand that they each have their own assets. He has huge assets, worth 70 million euros. And she has assets worth 3 million euros," he said. He also stated that, under the law, the couple would split equally the assets acquired during their marriage.

A lecturer at the Sorbonne, Omar El Adlouni, backs the former Le Parisien journalist and debunks the story, which he says was fabricated from start to finish. "A fake news story claiming that Achraf Hakimi put his entire fortune in his mother's name so as not to share it with his ex-wife has been setting the internet alight since 13 April. The story goes that Hakimi's ex-wife supposedly found out during the hearing before the judge. This fake news was built in 3 stages: an Ivorian Twitter account (approx. 1/2 million followers), known for regularly posting fake news, made the story up from scratch. It was then reshared thousands of times, first on Twitter, then on other platforms and on sites that claim to be serious, such as marca(.)es, hespress(.com) or goal(.)fr, which share this information on their sites and their social media pages," he explained.

For her part, the mother of the PSG right-back, Saida Mouh, who has been put in the dock in this bizarre affair, has broken her silence. "If he took legal steps to protect himself in this matter, I know nothing about it. But what's the problem if this information is true? If my son doesn't do that, he won't be able to get rid of this woman," she said. The Moroccan footballer and the Spanish-Tunisian actress have yet to comment on a matter that is being interpreted in different ways on social media.
