It is a welcome return. After a break in 2019 because of Covid, the FIBA Afrocan will be back in July 2023. Ahead of this continental tournament, open only to home-based players, the Elephants A' are continuing their preparation camps. Four months after their last get-together (December 2022), under Elephants senior team coach Dejan Prokic, the players have resumed their skills-development sessions at the Palais des Sports de Treichville.

On Wednesday 5 April 2023, under coach Doh Koné (CSA T), 12 players turned up. The aim of the session was to assess the players, with the short-term goal of putting together the A' team. As a reminder, the A' team trains every Wednesday (18:00-20:00 GMT). Coach Doh Koné is assisted in this task by Sosthène Koné (Azur), Dougah Tapé (BAT) and Marc Kouakou (FIBB assistant), all selected by the National Technical Directorate, headed by Anicet Lavodrama.
