After Chelsea, Lamine Camara now wants to give everything for Monaco

The transfer to Chelsea ultimately didn’t happen, but Lamine Camara refuses to dwell on this false start. Present at the press conference this Friday, the AS Monaco midfielder admitted he had experienced a turbulent moment before quickly refocusing on his objectives. “It’s true that it was a bit of a turbulent and difficult time. But then, it’s part of a football player’s life,” he explained.

The Senegalese player insists he adopted the right attitude so that this episode would not disrupt his season. “I managed to be professional so I wouldn’t think too much about it, and I was able to move on quickly to focus on the match in Paris, because staying blocked on that serves no purpose,” he added. His words show Camara’s desire to look forward, as Monaco holds new ambitions this season.

Filipe Luís, a coach who has already convinced

Beyond the transfer window, Lamine Camara was also very complimentary of his new coach, Filipe Luís. The Senegalese especially appreciates the Brazilian manager’s closeness with his squad and his ability to support each player. “He’s a top coach. He doesn’t hesitate to talk to us when it’s needed and to give us advice!” Camara said. The Monegasque midfielder also emphasizes the coach’s fairness in managing the locker room. “He treats everyone the same way because he is always there to help us and push us to give our best,” he continued. Monaco wants to look beyond PSG

Lamine Camara prefers to stay cautious. “First of all, it’s not just Paris in the league! There are other big teams like Marseille, Lens, and Strasbourg that we are going to face as well,” he points out. The Senegalese thus refuses to limit the race for the top spots to a duel with PSG. For him, the priority remains to take the season step by step. “For now, we are just trying to take the matches one by one,” he explains. Nevertheless, Camara believes that Monaco has the necessary strengths for a great season, especially thanks to having kept some important players. “It’s true that we have a very good team, since players like Golovine and Balogun stayed, and that’s great. They’re quality players we’ll need, but we are staying focused on the season and we’ll see how things go at the end,” he concluded.
