It is the final chapter of one of the most closely followed sagas of the summer transfer window. Andre Onana will wear the Manchester United shirt this season. The English club and Inter Milan have agreed a deal. Each has confirmed the transfer on its own social media channels. "André [Onana] has enjoyed success throughout his career and he will contribute to the winning mentality we are building. He is already one of the best goalkeepers in the world and we are convinced he can still improve at Manchester United," said Man. United's Director of Football, John Murtough. "Onana is a new Manchester United player. Thanks for everything," the Italians said in return.

The Lombardy club have made an incredible profit. Arriving on a free transfer last summer, Andre Andre has brought in 50 million euros excluding bonuses for Inter Milan. The Cameroonian thus becomes the most expensive African goalkeeper in history and the 3rd most expensive worldwide, behind Chelsea's Spaniard Kepa (80 million euros) and Liverpool's Brazilian Allison (62 million euros). He therefore goes into the football record books. He cost Ajax Amsterdam just 150 thousand euros in 2015, at the end of his youth development at FC Barcelona.
Andre Onana: "I am starting a new adventure at Manchester United"
Andre Onana will never forget, incidentally, this short spell at Inter that proved so successful. "I never imagined a farewell would be this difficult. A year ago, I became a Nerazzurro, and many people told me this club and this city had something special. Now, I can confirm it. In my first days as a Nerazzurro, I realised it is a family, and that being an Interista is a way of understanding life," the former Ajax goalkeeper said on Instagram.
"I fell in love with the Curva and the city. Now, the circumstances are right for me to start a new adventure at Manchester United. I am doing it with great enthusiasm, but knowing that I will miss you. Eternal gratitude to all the Interistas. You make this club great. Maybe one day our paths will cross again, but now it is time to take on new challenges and cheer you on from afar. Players come and go, but the club always remains, and Inter is above everything and everyone," adds the 27-year-old.
