At 29, Zambo Anguissa has truly reached maturity as a footballer. With Napoli this season, the Cameroonian has grown in stature, delivering big performances even in the decisive games.

The numbers speak for the former Olympique de Marseille player. In Serie A, he was named Man of the Match 4 times and Player of the Month once. In all competitions, he played 37 games, scoring 6 goals and providing 5 assists. He shone in key league games, notably with two assists against Atalanta in matchday 21 and a goal against Juventus in matchday 22. Performances like these have not gone unnoticed by some European clubs.

André-Frank Zambo Anguissa has improved in every area. A ball-winning midfielder at heart, the 29-year-old has made clear strides in his use of the ball. He is stronger going forward and is now decisive. A complete midfielder who is now attracting interest as the summer transfer window approaches.

José Mourinho's Fenerbahçe have made the Indomitable Lion their priority this summer. The Turkish club, who have qualified for the Champions League qualifying rounds, have set their sights on the Cameroonian and have already moved into action. According to the Turkish media, first contacts have been made with the player's agent.

Having qualified for the Champions League, Chelsea are scouring the market to strengthen their squad. While their interest is not especially strong, the London club are keeping tabs on Zambo Anguissa.

Continuity at Napoli

Napoli: Zambo Anguissa will extend his contractImage recovered from a public archive captured on 02/05/2025. The archived file is verified; the current source is unavailable. View archived capture

Is continuity the best solution? Contractually, the Cameroonian is tied to Napoli until June 2027. Although it is not yet official, the club have reportedly activated the extension until June 2027, according to Nicolo Schira. The current deal expires in June 2025.

The Indomitable Lion has been playing at Napoli since August 2021. After a season on loan, he signed permanently from Fulham in July 2022. Since then, he has only got better. Staying with the Partenopei would be ideal. What's more, his club will play in the Champions League next season.

For the moment, the former Villarreal player has not yet officially made a decision on his future. The suitors are there, and so is the Napoli option. Take on a new adventure this summer or stay at Napoli? The question remains open. With two Serie A titles in three years and a status as a midfield leader, Zambo Anguissa, at 29, could decide to join a top club for a more appealing new challenge.

Today, André-Frank Zambo Anguissa has the quality and ability to shine at a more prestigious club than Napoli. He is clearly among the best midfielders in Europe this season.
