The ambition is great. FUS de Rabat, a quarter-finalist in 2024 for the Basketball Africa League, wants to do better this year. The team is armed to go as far as possible. The proof is that they have already had two highly noticed outings during BAL 6.
Two wins in two matches

With one game less, FUS de Rabat occupies second place in the Sahara Conference with two victories. Before facing ASC Ville de Dakar this Wednesday for its third game, the club has already knocked down two opponents with high-quality services.
On Friday 24 April at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex, FUS de Rabat easily dominated the JCA Kings of Côte d'Ivoire (85-55). Alioune Harouna and Mouhamadou Diagne were the main actors in this great victory at the beginning. The first is the best scorer of the game with 16 points and the second is the best player with 8 points and 14 rebounds in just 25 minutes.
On Sunday, FUS de Rabat did it again. The Moroccan side won (97-72) ahead of the Nigerians from Maktown Flyers. Abdoulaye Harouna and Will Perry have accumulated 50 points. In addition to the victory, the collective performance of FUS Rabat is impressive. The Moroccans distinguished themselves with a very fast pace from the start of the match. They gave the Nigerians no chance to come back, putting pressure from start to finish.
A team built to go all the way

If FUS Rabat won its first matches, it especially seduced by its style of play: a real domination imposed on the opponents. Despite the absence of Abdelhakim Zouita, who was injured in the first match, the team played against the Nigerian team. Tyrell Corbin, the Maktown Flyers' guard, was really impressed by the FUS’s firepower.
«They were a little more patient. They have very good chemistry. It shows, because they have been playing together for a long time, whereas we have only been playing together since the beginning of April. They have a great chemistry; they move the ball better, which creates opportunities for them to shoot. When we were down, we tried to play one-on-one. I think that’s what made the difference between the two teams,"
he said.
Very average last season, the team has transformed and shines at BAL 6, at home. Soufiane Benmhine, the leader, explained this very positive change.
«The difference between last season and this one is that we don’t have the same pressure as last year. This year, we have experience, which makes things easier for us,"
he said.
FUS of Rabat is in great shape. It is expected to be confirmed against ASC Ville de Dakar this Wednesday at 18:00 GMT at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat.
