The draw for the 2023 Basketball World Cup took place on Saturday 29 April in the Phillipines. Ivory Coast, the first African nation to qualify for the tournament, have been placed in Group G. The Ivorians will meet an old acquaintance in Spain. Brazil and Iran are also in the Elephants' group. It is a very tough pool, especially with the reigning world champions Spain and the Brazilians in it.
