The second leg of the first preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup continued on Saturday 26 August, and the big guns did not miss the chance to book their place in the next round. Stade Malien, who had already won 3-1 away, finished the job at home. The Malians simply blew Watanga of Liberia away (4-1). Stade Malien therefore go through to the next round of the 2023 CAF Confederation Cup.

SOAR of Guinea also cleared the first hurdle. After a 2-2 draw in the first leg at Douane of Mauritania, the Guineans drew again, this time goalless. That was enough to go through. Their two away goals send them into the second round of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Al Merreikh Juba (South Sudan), Bendel (Nigeria), Academie de FAD (Côte d'Ivoire), AS Arta (Djibouti) and Bahir Dar Kenema (Ethiopia) are the other teams to have qualified for the next stage of the CAF Confederation Cup. The competition continues on Sunday 27 August with some evenly matched ties.
