Cameroon Ballon D'or 2025: Serge Daura wins at 19

A reference season in Elite One
In an always demanding Elite One championship, Serge Daura outclassed the competition. Top scorer with 15 goals, he also delivered 11 assists, confirming a complete striker profile, capable of finishing actions as well as initiating them.

Offensive leader of Gazelle FA, he was one of the great architects of the third place won by his club. A solid collective performance, built around its efficiency and regularity. At 19, he took on responsibilities usually reserved for more experienced players, establishing himself as the trigger of an ambitious team.

Its impact was not limited to statistics. Through his movements, his volume of races and his ability to weigh on the defenses, Daura changed the offensive face of his team throughout the 2024-2025 season.

A heated competition
To win the trophy, Serge Daura beat Boris Mfoumou (AS Fortuna) and Nsanfeu Konrad (Panthère Sportive), confirming the support of observers for his meteoric rise. He succeeds Nchindo John Bosco, previous holder of the Ballon d'Or.

Already elected best scorer and revelation of the season, the young striker logically won the vote. His profile combines precocity, performance and room for improvement, decisive criteria in voting.

A Ballon d'Or entering a new era
Beyond the individual consecration, this 2025 edition will remain in the annals for its unprecedented character. Thanks to the partnership between Fecafoot and Sky Motors, exclusive distributor of Jetour vehicles in Cameroon, the winner left with a new car, a first in the history of the local Ballon d'Or.

Chaired by Samuel Eto'o, the ceremony thus took on an additional dimension, combining symbolic recognition and material enhancement. "It is about valuing the Cameroonian footballer,"  Jean-Marie Nkoussa, director of Communication of Fecafoot.

A strong signal sent to the players of the national championship, in a context where highlighting local talent is a strategic issue for the development of Cameroonian football.

The face of a generation
At only 19 years old, Serge Daura is probably only at the beginning of his story. His triumph consecrates a successful season, but above all opens the prospect of a trajectory called to go beyond national borders.

In one evening, he inscribed his name in a double story: that of an early talent confirmed at the highest domestic level, and that of a Cameroonian Ballon d'Or entered into a new era. Currently, the biggest clubs on the continent make eyes at him, including Al Ahly who is very interested in the Cameroonian prodigy.
