Young Cameroonian striker Solomon Nsoh Asaah is rapidly emerging as one of the most exciting attacking prospects in the MTN Elite One after scoring his fifth goal in eight matches to help AS Fortuna de Mfou secure a 2–0 victory over Aigle Royale du Moungo on Match Day 9.
The in-form forward has been one of the most decisive players for Fortuna this season, already finding the net against Dynamo de Douala on the opening day of the campaign, as well as against Victoria United FC and Coton Sport de Garoua. His latest strike continues a run that is placing him among the most consistent young scorers in the league.
Background: A Young Talent from Bamenda
Born on 23 March 2005 in Bamenda, Solomon Asaah is a 21-year-old attacker who has quickly risen through the ranks of Cameroonian football. Standing about 1.80 m tall, the forward plays primarily as a striker and has already been involved with the Cameroon national under-20 football team, highlighting his potential on the international stage.
Before joining Fortuna, Asaah played with Leopard de Douala in the second division before moving to the Yaoundé-based club as he continued his development in the top flight.
A Striker with Natural Finishing Instinct
What makes Asaah stand out is his clinical finishing and intelligent movement inside the penalty area. Coaches and observers often point to several qualities in his game:
⚽ Sharp positioning – He has the instinct of a traditional number 9, always arriving in dangerous areas.
⚽ Composure in front of goal – Asaah rarely rushes his finishing and often picks his spot calmly.
⚽ Explosive acceleration – His first few meters of pace allow him to beat defenders to loose balls.
⚽ Aerial presence – At 1.80 m, he is strong in the air and dangerous during crosses and set pieces.
⚽ Work rate – Beyond scoring, he presses defenders and contributes to Fortuna’s attacking transitions.
His performances suggest a striker who thrives in fast attacking systems, capable of playing both as a central striker and occasionally drifting into wider channels to create space.
Growing Reputation in Elite One
With five goals already in the early phase of the season, Asaah is gradually building a reputation as one of the most promising young attackers in the Cameroonian championship. The MTN Elite One, founded in 1961, is the highest level of professional football in Cameroon and serves as a key pathway for players aiming for international careers.
Clubs across Africa and beyond regularly scout the league for emerging talents, and a consistent scoring record at such a young age could soon attract wider attention.
A Player to Watch

As Solomon Asaah prepares to celebrate his 21st birthday on March 23, 2026, his early performances this season indicate a striker with the potential to follow the path of former Fortuna attackers who later moved abroad.
If his current scoring form continues, the young forward may soon become one of the next Cameroonian attackers to earn attention from foreign clubs and possibly a call-up to the senior national team.
For now, however, Asaah’s focus remains clear: keep scoring and help AS Fortuna climb the Elite One standings.
