South Africa knock out Nigeria
Nigeria, the most successful nation in the U20 AFCON with 7 titles, went out in the semi-finals at the Suez Canal Stadium. The Flying Eagles were eliminated by South Africa's Bafana Bafana U20. The southern Africans won by the narrowest of margins (1-0) thanks to a goal from Tylon Christopher Smith in the 66th minute.

Nigeria dominated every aspect of the game. 21 shots, 5 on target, 54% possession, 391 passes, 79% pass accuracy, but the Nigerian side lacked a cutting edge in the final third. And it is the young Bafana Bafana who march on to the final of the tournament.
