Hosts of CHAN 2022, Algeria made it three wins out of three in the group stage. After winning their first two games in Group A (1-0 against Libya and by the same score against Ethiopia), the host Fennecs claimed a third victory, against Mozambique, on Saturday 21 January.

Madjid Bougherra's men won by their usual 1-0 margin against the Mambas thanks to a goal from Hocine Dehiri (7th minute). They finish top of the group on nine points.

The Knights of the Mediterranean (3 pts) finish third in the table, ahead of their opponents on the day, who are fourth and bottom with 1 point.

In the quarter-finals, Algeria will face the runners-up of Group B (Senegal, Ivory Coast, Uganda, DR Congo). Mozambique, meanwhile, will have to battle it out with the winners of Group C (Sudan, Madagascar, Ghana).

The quarter-finals begin on 27 January.
