Two games, two wins for Madagascar in the CHAN 2022 group stage. The home-based Bareas made light work of Sudan on the final matchday of Group C. The scoreline was emphatic (3-0). Randriatsiferana got things started in the 13th minute. Razafindranaivo doubled the lead a few minutes later (30th). And the nightmare continued for the Sudanese in that first half. Rafanomezantsoa made it three before the break (33rd). That was how it finished. The Sudanese never got going in this match. The Malagasy were clearly the better side from start to finish.

The win sends the Malagasy top of Group C, ahead of Ghana. On their first appearance, the Bareas have qualified for the quarter-finals of CHAN 2022. It is a superb achievement from the Malagasy, who will face Mozambique, runners-up in Group A.
The other qualifying spot from Group C goes to Ghana. With a bye on this final matchday, the Black Galaxies finish second in the group with six points. That is enough to reach the quarter-finals. Sudan finish bottom with just three points. The Sudanese had been favourites in this group after Morocco, two-time African champions, withdrew.
