Last summer, Christian Kofane joined Bayer Leverkusen for a contract until 2029 from Albacete. Nine months after signing, the 19-year-old striker has established himself as the number one scorer for Germany. Even before the opening of the summer transfer window, the player is already making news.

Two European leaders are watching him

Christian Kofane plays for Leverkusen

A real precocity. At the end of 2024, Konafe was still at AS Nylon in Cameroon. In November of the same year, the Cameroonian nugget signed in Albacete. After some convincing performances, he caught the eye of Bayer Leverkusen. The German team paid the sum of 5.25 million euros to enlist him. A season after his signing in Germany, the native of Douala could rise in rank. He is monitored by Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga and Arsenal in the Premier League.

Arsenal is the club most interested in Kofane. According to information from Ekrem Konur, the Gunners will try to secure the services of the Cameroonian international striker with an offer of 70 million euros. Bayern Munich, which is also interested in the young striker, could withdraw from the race after the strong demands of Leverkusen’s management. The executives are claiming an amount of 100 million euros.

A brilliant first season with Leverkusen

Christian Kofane doesn’t know the pressure. Highly anticipated after being recruited by Bayer Leverkusen, the 19-year-old striker has distinguished himself in his first official appearance. He scored his first goal in the first round of the German Cup against SG Sonnenhof Großaspach on 15 August 2025. In the same match, he delivered an assist. 15 days later, he scored his first goal in the Bundesliga 3-3 against Werder Bremen on the second day away.

Christian Kofane played 40 games in all competitions for 7 goals and 8 assists this season. He accumulated 1,833 minutes for 18 starts.

In the Bundesliga, Christian Kofana has played 25 games, totaling 1,118 minutes, for 10 starts. He scored 5 goals and delivered 3 assists. If he is involved in 8 goals of his club this season, he is also important in other areas of play. In the league, he is responsible for 82% of successful passes, 80% of successful passes in the opposing half of the field, 55% of successful dribbles, 44% of successful duels in total, 45% of successful aerial duels and 0.9 recovered balls per match. He clearly has a hand in Leverkusen’s attack.
