DR Congo - LINAFOOT: Mazembe and Lupopo heavily sanctioned

The LINAFOOT Management Commission did not go into details when deciding on the incidents that marred the great Lushois derby last March 8 between TP Mazembe and FC Saint Éloi Lupopo at the TP Mazembe Stadium, causing the final stop of the match at halftime.

Exemplary sanctions
‎The two teams lose the match by withdrawal. Based on the FECOFA disciplinary code, the LINAFOOT imposed a penalty on both clubs, especially since it was their supporters jointly who caused the match to be halted.

The two teams are ordered to pay a correctional fine of 15,000 dollars. A huge sum for Congolese clubs operating in a difficult economic context.
The two teams lose the match gate fees.
‎Both teams are prohibited from using the steeds until further notice.  Indeed, the stewards of the two teams were at the root of all these disorders.
‎Relocation of the next three home games for both teams. The Almighty Mazembe and FC Saint Éloi Lupopo will receive their next three respective opponents outside the city of Lubumbashi. La Linafoot has chosen the city of Likasi as the new home for both clubs.

Closed for the next three matches where both teams will be received in Lubumbashi. To punish their supporters, the two clubs will play in empty stadiums when they are received in Lubumbashi.

Formal warning for the two clubs that in case of a recurrence of such acts, the mandatory provisions of article 80 of the CDF will be applied to them, which provides for exclusion from competition and relegation to the division immediately below.
The two teams must take charge of the care of all the injured until their recovery; Lupopo must repair or buy all the equipment, emblems, chairs, buses, cars and other items from the Stade TP Mazembe destroyed or taken away.

The keeper of TP Mazembe, Marc Philips is ordered to pay a fine of 200 dollars for fetishistic practice.
‎After these LINAFOOT sanctions, the two clubs also took internal measures so that such inconveniences could not happen again.  Among these measures, there is in particular the formal prohibition to all non-mandated supporters to speak on behalf of either club.
