Mathys Amougou (Chelsea)

A breakout player for AS Saint-Etienne in Ligue 1, Mathys Amougou gave his career a major springboard by joining Chelsea in February 2025. A promising midfielder, he stood out for his technical precision, his ability to control the tempo and his ease when driving forward. In 17 appearances for Les Verts, he showed impressive maturity for his age. Chelsea, always on the lookout for young talents to polish, gave him an eight-year contract, a sign of the faith placed in him.

Although he is still adapting to English football, Amougou chose to stay with the first team rather than be sent out on loan to Strasbourg straight away. His decision reflects a clear ambition to establish himself at one of the most competitive clubs in Europe. With good vision and an ability to dictate the tempo, he could soon earn a place in the Blues' rotation.

Valentin Atangana (Stade de Reims)

A well-rounded midfielder, Valentin Atangana has worked his way up at Stade de Reims, signing his first professional contract in 2022. Versatile, he can play as a holding midfielder, as a box-to-box midfielder and even as a right-back. His tactical intelligence and physical work rate have made him an essential part of Reims' set-up.

His contract extension until 2027 shows the club's belief in his potential. With more than 1,200 minutes played in the first half of the season, he is establishing himself as a future starter. His background with the France youth teams, where he won the U17 Euros in 2022, illustrates his experience at the highest level of youth development. It will be interesting to see whether Cameroon try to persuade him to opt for the Indomitable Lions.

Aboubakar Nagida (Stade Rennais)

An explosive left-back, Aboubakar Nagida is a product of the Brasseries du Cameroun football school. He arrived at Stade Rennais in 2023 and rose quickly, going from the reserve team to Ligue 1 in a matter of months. His pace, power and crossing accuracy make him a top attacking asset.

Aboubakar Nagida

Nagida has also been decisive in his recent Ligue 1 appearances, scoring two goals in three games, notably against AS Monaco and AS Saint-Etienne. His experience in the Europa League has also strengthened his status as a young talent to follow. His all-round profile makes him a valuable member of the Stade Rennais squad, but also an interesting target for bigger clubs.

Epée Ngando (Montpellier HSC)

Still unknown to the wider public, Pierre Epée Ngando is a Cameroonian football prospect who has just arrived at Montpellier. Trained at Academy Foot in Douala, this skilful, lively attacking midfielder aims to follow in the footsteps of Cameroon's great playmakers.

Initially expected to join the reserve team, he could soon catch the eye of Michel Der Zakarian, who is not afraid to give young talents a chance. His football intelligence, his eye for the killer pass and his creativity make him a player to watch closely.

Joseph Ngadena (AS Monaco)

Spotted at the "G8 Talent Cameroun" tournament, Joseph Ngadena is a lanky 1m80 striker who has just signed for AS Monaco. Having come through the Indomable centre and the International Football Academy in Cameroon, he joins the famous Monaco side to continue his development in an ultra-competitive environment.

Joining the club's Elite group should give him an ideal setting to progress and, in time, break into the first team. With the profile of a mobile striker and great positional intelligence, Ngadena has the qualities needed to make his mark in modern football. It remains to be seen how he develops and whether he can shake up Monaco's pecking order.
