Having joined Fulham in the last transfer window, Alex Iwobi does not seem to have left Everton on the best of terms. Reading between the lines, the Nigeria forward did not like the way he was pushed towards the exit. In an interview published in The Athletic, Iwobi refrained from giving specific details. "It wasn't an easy decision (to leave). I enjoyed my time there. Especially these last two years. I felt like they (the supporters) were warming to me," the Super Eagles goalscorer said straight away. "There were a lot of conversations behind closed doors. There are things I'm not allowed to say. But I feel it was a decision by the club and me that the best solution was to leave. I hope they succeed, I have a lot of respect for them and I left on good terms."

"There are things I'm not allowed to say about Everton"

While he enjoyed his time at Everton, which he joined in 2010, Iwobi felt the need to look elsewhere. Routine was starting to get the better of him. "I felt I needed a new challenge. And Fulham give me that opportunity to express myself," Alex Iwobi stressed.

With 5 Premier League appearances, the Nigerian has yet to score despite a run of consecutive starts. Even though the only thing missing is a league goal (he has scored in the Cup), Iwobi is performing well and helping his team-mates a great deal. The 27-year-old playmaker has a substantial impact.
