The electoral process is progressing well at the Congolese Football Association with the publication by the electoral commission of the provisional lists for the election of the new members of the Executive Committee of the Congolese body scheduled for 20 May.

Only three lists were selected out of the 9 submitted to the FECOFA general secretariat; these are the lists of Véron Mosengo-Omba, Bosco Mwehu and Jean-Didier Massamba. The other six lists were provisionally declared inadmissible for at least one irregularity. Candidates whose lists have not been kept may appeal to the Appeals Committee until 4 May.

11 axes and 4 priorities for Véron Mosengo

‎
‎Among the selected candidates who were highly anticipated, there is therefore Véron Mosengo-Omba. The former secretary general of CAF announced an ambitious project based on 11 axes.

"We have a project based on 11 areas that will be implemented according to the four governance principles, namely transparency, integrity, responsibility, and accountability. We owe accounts to the Congolese population,"

 he said.

‎
‎In the 11 areas of his project, Véron Mosengo-Omba has 4 priorities ranging from restoring the credibility of the federation to good cooperation with the government for the construction or rehabilitation of infrastructure with a major goal of developing football in all provinces of the DRC.

"We have four priorities: the restoration of good governance and the credibility of the federation, the stabilization of our leagues, clubs, and national teams, and investment in the training of young people from every province of the country, because this country is a land of talent, not only in Kinshasa and finally the construction of infrastructure, try to be convincing so that the government agrees to build or renovate the infrastructure,"

 he said.
‎
‎A project that has sparked reactions in the Congolese sports world. Of all the candidates who submitted their lists, this is the only candidate who was able to detail his project in large part. We feel that he has a good handle on things and with his address book as well as his experience at the world level, he will be a good president for FECOFA," said sports analyst Eddy Kanku Kadima.
‎
For Véron Mosengo-Omba, one question must bring the Congolese together, that of knowing "how to build a stronger, more credible and more sustainable football for the DRC" he wrote in a publication on his account X recently.

The final lists will be published on 11 May, after all appeals have been processed. Then comes the election campaign between 12 and 19 May, before the big day of the General Assembly on 20 May.
