Bara Sapoko Ndiaye joined Bayern Munich in January 2026. Well before, the 18-year-old midfielder was shaped for the high level in Senegal. The jewel, compared to Lucas Paqueta, started his training at Thiès Academy. He chased it at Senegal Elite Stars before concluding it at Gambinos Stars Academy. This last training center based in Gambia, founded by Helmut Hack, former vice-president of the German League (DFL), propelled it to the forefront.
Thanks to the partnership between the Gambian Academy and Bayern Munich, Phoenix Stars, Bara Sapoko Ndiaye, performing, caught the eye of Bavarian scouts. In the last winter transfer window, he made the big leap by joining the Bavarian club.
An injury that delayed his professional debut at Bayern
Bara Sapoko Ndiaye could have played a little earlier with the first team of Bayern Munich. From the moment he arrived, the young Senegalese showed off all his qualities. With an impressive touch, technical precision and tactically intelligent thanks to his movements between the lines, he seduced the management and coach Vincent Kompany. Unfortunately, the 18-year-old player was cut off by an injury. A physical problem delayed his first appearance with the pros.
"Unfortunately, he was injured, otherwise he would have made his debut much earlier. He came on very well and showed no nervousness despite the level," revealed Max Eberl, Bayern’s sports director.
Towards a definitive signature
Bara Ndiaye has not yet signed a professional contract with Bayern Munich. He has signed as a loan with an option to purchase. The latter could be lifted in the coming weeks. The Bavarian club would like to secure its nugget before certainly big interests next summer.
According to information from the Abendzeitung München, Munich’s leaders are already thinking of recruiting the 18-year-old attacking midfielder. Forced to play no matches with the reserve team due to regulatory restrictions by the German Football Association, Ndiaye has very limited playing time. But his first match with the first team proves to himself that he is a real gem, promised to a very bright future.
With the current competition in between games, Bara Ndiaye should play less and less with Bayern. As a result, the club would consider lending him after completing the final signature so that he could continue his progress.
