The Knicks hosted the Sixers at the famous Madison Square Garden. The home side lost in front of their fans (119-112), despite leading going into the final quarter, albeit by just a single point (95-96). But in the closing stretch, Georges Niang caught fire from beyond the arc. The Senegalese power forward hit four three-pointers, scoring 12 of his 16 points in that final period. Niang finished as top scorer of the Sixers' second unit.

Philly could also count on their star duo of Joel Embiid and James Harden. The Cameroonian is in monumental form at the moment. He posted 35 points and 8 rebounds. He is the NBA's leading scorer, averaging 33.1 points. His sidekick Harden put up 29 points and dished out 13 assists. The guard leads the league in assists with an average of 11.1.
In the Eastern Conference standings, the Sixers (20 wins, 12 losses) are 5th and the Knicks (18 wins, 16 losses) are in 6th place.
