Beaten 3-0 in the first leg, Real Madrid will try to turn the tie around against Arsenal on Wednesday night in the Champions League quarter-final second leg. Winners of the first leg, Inter Milan are keen to confirm their superiority over the Bavarians to reach the semi-finals.

A hugely anticipated Real Madrid v Arsenal

The roof at the Santiago Bernabéu will be closed and a stifling atmosphere is promised. Real Madrid have prepared every possible ingredient for their merengue supporters to enjoy another memorable night, like those against Chelsea, PSG and Manchester City in recent years. Real Madrid will hope their pedigree in the competition, which they have won a record 15 times, makes the difference once again against a Gunners side most of whom are playing in their first Champions League quarter-final.

Although he is not in the running to start, with Carlo Ancelotti not a big fan of rotation, Morocco international Brahim Diaz could nonetheless play an important role if called off the bench. On the English side, Thomas Partey is expected to keep his place in Mikel Arteta's XI, the Ghanaian having put in an accomplished display in the 3-0 win at the Emirates Stadium.

Bayern less convincing ahead of Inter tie

After their 1-2 home defeat in the first leg, Bayern Munich had the chance to send a strong message to the Nerazzurri at the weekend, but Vincent Kompany's men had to settle for a 2-2 draw with Borussia Dortmund in the Klassiker. That result is unlikely to lift Bayern's spirits, especially as Inter followed up by thrashing Cagliari 3-1 in Serie A, with another goal from Lautaro Martinez. However, Champions League nights have always produced big surprises and San Siro could stage another great moment in the competition's history tonight. Both matches kick off at 19:00 GMT.
