FCF Mazembe's run in the CAF Women's Champions League is already historic. In only their second appearance in the competition, the Corbeaux of Lubumbashi have reached the semi-finals for the first time in their history, improving on 2022, when they went out in the group stage. The Congolese side finished second in Group A with 6 points, winning two games against South Africa's University of western Cap (2-0) and Senegal's Aigles de la Medina (4-0), and losing to AS FAR of Morocco.

Aiming to keep writing history

FCF Mazembe play their semi-final against Nigerian club EDO Queens on Tuesday (14:00 GMT). The Congolese side face tough opponents, who beat South Africa's Mamelodi sundows, two-time winners of the competition, in the group stage (2-1).

But the Corbeaux are determined to keep writing history and become the first Central African club to win the competition. The FCF Mazembe players are confident in their ability and will give everything to reach the final. "We will play our semi-final like a final. We will manage the weaker spells in the game well and stay focused. In this competition, all the teams are good and we don't yet know which one will be crowned champion. We will give everything, " said Mazembe's Moroccan coach, Lamia Boumehdi.

For the semi-final, FCF Mazembe will be able to count on their regular goalscorer, Merveille Kanjinga, who already has two goals in the competition.
