There are some thrilling ties in store in the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League. Impressive in the group stage, Mamelodi Sundowns have been drawn against Algerian side CR Belouizad, who finished second in Group D. The South Africans dominated the group stage. They finished top of Group B with 14 points, inflicting a heavy defeat on Al Ahly along the way. Winners of the South African league for the 13th time, the Brazilians are chasing a second continental title after the one in 2016.
But the pick of the quarter-finals in the CAF Champions League is Al Ahly v Raja Casablanca, two former winners of the competition. The Egyptians had a rather timid group stage. Second in Group B on the same number of points as Al Hilal, they only just squeezed through. They intend to bounce back in the quarter-final against the Moroccans, who had a fine run in the group matches. Unbeaten, Raja finished top of Group C with 16 points.
In the other ties, JS Kabylie take on Espérance de Tunis, while Simba SC face Wydad Casablanca. The first leg is scheduled for 21 April and the return leg will be played on the 28th.

USM Alger v AS FAR, the pick of the Confederation Cup quarter-finals
In the Confederation Cup, there will also be a Maghreb derby. Morocco's AS FAR will take on USM Alger. Two evenly matched sides. The military side finished top of Group C with 11 points, ahead of Pyramids (11 pts). The Egyptians, for their part, will lock horns with Marumo Gallants, the sensation of the CAF group stage. Like Mamelodi Sundowns, the South Africans finished top of their group (A), ahead of USM Alger.
Group B winners ASEC Mimosas of Ivory Coast will face Tunisian side US Monastir. Rivers United FC v Young Africans SC completes the quarter-final line-up. The quarter-finals will be played on 23 and 30 April.
