Signed from FC Lugano in Switzerland for €4 million in August, Mohamed El Amine Amoura has wasted no time showing his qualities, even though he has mostly been on the bench. The label "Super Sub" suits him perfectly while he waits to establish himself as a starter in the Belgian side renowned for spotting talent. He already has 6 goals despite only 3 starts in the league and the Europa League.

Even though he never fully established himself in Switzerland, USG, who use the same scouting model as Brighton, did not miss the 23-year-old Algerian, who has been an international with the "Fennec" for two years. He still managed 8 goals and 4 assists in the Swiss Super League last season.

Quick and very gifted on the ball, Amoura makes an impact wherever he is deployed. Centre-forward, winger or attacking midfielder, the Algerian dazzles with his talent, thanks to his strong footwork, low centre of gravity, ball control and above all his efficiency. His accuracy in front of goal also means he is outperforming his "expected goals" in the league: 3 expected against 5 scored.

Only three things in life are certain: birth, death, and Amoura scoring. 💪 pic.twitter.com/Zwkb1z1pXr

After just one professional season with Algerian club ES Sétif, the Union forward was picked in the squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations and made his international debut a year later, after moving to Switzerland. One of the stars of Algerian football, notably after scoring four goals at the opening of the Oran stadium, he must have attracted several suitors as ES Sétif's gem in 2021. "He has incredible statistics. What is happening to him today is only confirmation of what he has been doing for years. He works so hard, and he is so serious. He will go very far, inshaAllah!" says Algeria coach Djamel Belmadi.

It is indeed at Union that he is making more of a name for himself in Europe, an ideal environment to develop and no doubt to move on to a bigger league. With his explosive start to the season and the Africa Cup of Nations coming up soon, he should not be short of suitors next summer.
