Nicolas Jackson, back to Chelsea?

After a season on loan at Bayern Munich, Nicolas Jackson will not stay permanently in Germany. The Senegalese international striker will return to Chelsea as stipulated by the contract. But, the only question that is on everyone’s mind is whether the player is still in the Blues' plans.

Nicolas Jackson, back to Chelsea?

Loaned to Bayern Munich last summer to have some playing time, Nicolas Jackson was not able to put himself forward as hoped. Blocked by the competition in attack and by the indestructible Harry Kane, the 24-year-old player only played bits of minutes. Despite the 1320 minutes played, or 34 games in all competitions, the Senegalese player still scored 11 goals and delivered 4 assists. Big arguments to seduce the new Blues coach, Xabi Alonso.

Nicolas Jackson, an undecided future

Nicolas Jackson will play the 2026 World Cup with Senegal, having a total lack of clarity about his future. When it’s time to return to London, the native of Banjul is in a zone of uncertainty: between winning again at Chelsea or offering himself a new challenge.

Last summer under Enzo Maresca, the situation was very clear for Jackson. He was not in the coach’s plans and several offensive recruitments were made, notably the signing of Joao Pedro. There, the cards are being redistributed since a new coach has been appointed. It’s about Xabi Alonso who is coming to bring a new breath to the club.

According to information from GOAL, Nicolas Jackson remains a reliable player according to Chelsea’s managers. He will have the opportunity to seduce Xabi Alonso during the pre-season. His performances during this period will determine whether he stays or not. Yet the club does not close the door at a departure in case of nice offers.

Nicolas Jackson remains a well-known striker on the market. He is still young and has plenty of room for improvement. If he is not retained by Chelsea, despite his contract until June 2033, the Senegalese could rejoin another Premier League club.

This summer, Newcastle United lost one of their big offensive assets: Anthony Gordon, the hard-hitting winger, joined FC Barcelona. To replace the English international, the Magpies would have chosen Nicolas Jackson. According to information from Eye Football, Newcastle management is evaluating the player before making a final decision.

At 24, Nicolas Jackson is at a crossroads. To continue to progress, the Senegalese international needs to play regularly. He must choose a club that matches his profile and will allow him to keep chaining minutes week after week.
