UFC: Dricus Du Plessis, when will he get back in the cage?

Down since August 2025 and his defeat against Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 319, Dricus Du Plessis (23-3-0) is getting impatient for his return in the cage. But the South African still needs to find an opponent to relaunch himself after this defeat that broke his dynamic.

UFC: Dricus Du Plessis, when will he get back in the cage?

Before losing last August 16 in the fifth round of his duel against the Emirati, «Stillknocks» was on an impressive eleven-match winning streak including two defences of his middleweight world champion title, against Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland against whom he won the title.

The UFC 327 in sight
Since then, Dricus Du Plessis has taken the time to recharge and work on his imperfections and now seems ready to go back into the cage. The 32-year-old is aiming for a return to UFC 327 on April 11 in Florida. However, he has not yet found an opponent to return to what he calls the reconquest of his title.

« I will be ready for April [UFC 327]... There is no opponent yet, no contract, nothing like that. It doesn’t matter who it will be,"

Du Plessis told Fight Forecast.

His goal is clear: "For me, right now, the next fight is the most important one of my life, and I will win it to get my belt back," said "Stillknocks" more than ever determined to find the competition, but especially his belt.

Brendan Go as the next opponent?
In the continuation of his interview,

«DDP» expressed the wish to have a revenge fight against Khamzat Chimaev in order to set the record straight. «I am ready to get back in the ring and retrieve my belt as soon as possible. No matter the opponent. I would obviously love it to be Khamzat, and take my revenge,”

 said Dricus Du Plessis

However, this remains technically impossible since the next challenger of ‘Borz’ should be the French Nassourdine Imavov, even if the American would like to avoid the rising tricolor star of the MMA for defending his title. He doesn’t want another fight against Du Plessis either, but has no doubt about his outcome if an agreement is reached: "If I face him 100 times, I beat him 100 times," hammered Khamzat Chimaev in the Jaxxon Podcast.

However, The South African indicates that a fight would be being negotiated for Du Plessis with the American Brendan Aller (26-7-0) who remains on a victory by KO against Reiner de Rider last October. The discussions would still be at the primary stage, but serious enough to consider a duel in main event for next April 11th. To be continued...
