Ghana ready for the fight against England
Ahead of the 2026 World Cup, Ghana has a clear ambition: to do better than in the 2022 edition in Qatar. They already have a chance to secure qualification for the next round as early as this second match. After a victory over Panama, the Ghanaian team now faces one of the favorites of the competition, England. Although the Three Lions have a true powerhouse, Ghana fears nothing and is ready to challenge Harry Kane and his teammates.

In a pre-match press conference, Carlos Queiroz boosted his players. The coach of Ghana is aiming only for three points, even if the opponent is called England.
“Tomorrow (this Tuesday), we will fight to win. Whatever the result, our players must leave this match with their heads held high, knowing they gave everything.”, he told the media.
England, an impressive team

At the end of the first day of the group stage of the 2026 World Cup, England is the team that impressed the most. They dominated (4-2) against Luka Modric’s Croatia, controlling the match. The squad is well-oiled and the team is complete in all areas. Jude Bellingham, Declan Rice, Harry Kane, Noni Madueke... the Three Lions have top-level players and a true collective to go as far as possible.
To beat England, Ghana must play a perfect match. The Black Stars have to maintain their defensive solidity and improve their offensive efficiency. Jordan Ayew and his teammates will need to be clinical in both penalty areas. Thomas Tuchel, the coach of England, is taking the Ghanaian team seriously.
“Ghana's counter-attacks are a threat because they play physically and have impressive speed. They are comfortable with little possession and are not afraid to play long balls.”, he said during the pre-match press conference.
As for Queiroz, he knows how to thwart the plans of the Three Lions: “We know how England plays. They have excellent players, they have Premier League experience. They play with intensity, but we know how we can control it. We know they have three lions, but we have 33 million.”, concluded the Portuguese coach.
