South Africa: Broos names preliminary squad for Guinea & France

Al Ahly striker Percy Tau has been included in the South African national team preliminary squad

South African national team coach Hugo Broos has named preliminary his squad for the upcoming friendly internationals against Guinea and France.

Bafana Bafana, as the team is affectionately known, are due to play Guinea on 25 March in Belgium and France on 29 March in Lille.

The South African Football Association released a statement, confirming that the team will assemble a day before leaving for Europe on 21 March.

Broos has included some overseas based players in his squad. This list of players who play abroad includes Al Ahly's Percy Tau, who will be one of Bafana Bafana's biggest threats. Fagrie Lakay, who joinsd Egyptian coub Pyramids in January, is also part of the squad, after making a good start at his club.

A player making a return to the squad is striker Lyle Foster, who plays his football in Belgium for second tier club Westerlo. Siyanda Xulu recently parted ways with his Israeli club Hapoel Tel Aviv, but has been included in the team.
According to SAFA, Broos will trim his squad in due course.

Midfielders:
Sbonelo Cele (Arrows), Pule Mmodi (Arrows), Ethan Brooks (TS Galaxy), Keagan Dolly (Chiefs), Teboho Mokoena (Sundowns), Goodman Mosele (Pirates), Thabang Monare (Pirates)
Strikers:
Evidence Makgopa (Baroka), Victor Letsoalo (Royal AM), Mduduzi Mdantsane (CT City), Fagrie Lakay (Pyramids), Percy Tau (Al Ahly), Lyle Foster (Westerlo), Bongokuhle Hlongwane (Minnesota United)
