Cameroon: Clash between CAF cup and local cup game this Sunday

The Cameroon Football Federation '' New look '' under the stewardship of Samuel Eto'o has recently been at the eye of a controversial storm raging football in the country. A series of decisions by the federation has not gone well with public opinions in Cameroon. From the appointment of Rigobert Song as head coach to replace Toni Conceicao at the top job of the Indomitable Lions, to the announcement of a 25 team championship system divided into two pools for the 2022/ 2023 football season in Cameroon. The decisions of the president continue to make waves.

Just recently the final date of the Cup of Cameroon which is suppose to be the closure ceremony of the 2021 / 2022 sport season was announced for Sunday February 13 in Yaounde. The game will finally peat PWD of Bamenda against Astre Football Club of Douala. Cameroon's prime minister Dr Joseph D Ngute is expected to chair the ceremony in place of the president of the republic, Paul Biya.

The twist of the story is that on the same Sunday February 12 in Garoua, Cameroon's lone flag bearer in this season's CAF interclub competition Coton Sport of Garoua is hosting TP Mazembe in a group match of the ongoing CAF Confederation Cup. A very crucial game for the Green and White as only a victory can reignite their chances of making it through this year's group stages. Cotton Sport are tailing Group C with two points after three games. The game has been scheduled for 2 pm local time.

Another big question arises, did FECAFOOT and the Sports Ministry not take into consideration the CAF Confederation Cup game schedule before fixing the date of the Cup of Cameroon finals?

Where will the attention go, Garoua or Yaounde?

Which of the two games will be prioritized by the national broadcaster the CRTV? who also have rights for this season's CAF inter club competitions.
