Djibouti Premier League champions AS Arta Solar 7 will face Azam FC in an international friendly match on August 30th at the Azam Complex, Chamazi in Tanzania. The team will later test strength with Simba SC on September 3rd still in Tanzania.
The Djibouti team will use the friendly match to prepare ahead of the preliminary match of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League match against Al Merreikh (Sudan), while the Tanzania Premier League side are also preparing ahead of their second round TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup match.
The management of Azam FC on Monday announced that the International friendly match will take place on August 30th at 7pm.
AS Arta Solar 7 also boasts of former English Premier League players like Alex Song who featured for Arsenal and former Chelsea attacking midfielder Solomon Kalou.
The Djibouti team also last week signed Uganda Cranes International Taddeo Lwanga on a one year contract.
The midfielder was part of the Simba SC team (Tanzania) that reached the Group stage of the 2020-2021 Group stage of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and the quarter final stage of the 2021/2022 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup.
“I am happy to start a new chapter in my football journey as a professional. I want to help my new team AS Arta Solar 7 to win as many trophies as possible,” said Lwanga who has also featured for Ugandan teams before and in Egypt.
Other international friendlies will see Simba take on Ghanaian champions Asante Kotoko on August 28 in Sudan.
Al Hilal of Sudan will host Simba on August 31st.
