Former assistant coach of the Black Stars of Ghana, Ibrahim Tanko has stated that the Black Stars are ready for their game against Portugal in the on going 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The Black Stars will kickoff their 2022 FIFA World Cup campaign against the former European champions on Thursday, November 24 at the 974 Stadium in Qatar.
The former Ghana international speaking to the Ghana Football Association in Doha says”The boys are very very sharp, as you know we are here to observe and learn something and I think this is exactly what we are doing now.”
“Looking at the first match against Portugal I think the boys are ready.
“When you see the chemistry between the training, the coaches and the players I think everything is nice.
“So we hope that everyone will stay fit and then going to the World Cup game against Portugal.”-he added.
“Definitely I’m sure we are going to have a very good side.”-Tanko stated.
Tanko alongside former Kotoko and Hearts of Oak trainers, Prosper Narteh Ogum and Samuel Boadu are understudying the Black Stars technical team at the World Cup.
Ghana will also face South Korea on November 28, then the group stage will end on December 3 with a hotly anticipated game against Uruguay.
Ghana will be making their fourth appearance in the global tournament after making their first appearance in Germany 2006, South Africa 2010, and Brazil 2014.
